SPECIAL DAAL FRY & It's benefit

                                                              A Popular Indian Lentil Dish:

                                                        


Ingredients:

- 1 cup yellow or red lentils (masoor daal or toor daal)

- 2 cups water

- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 onion, finely chopped

- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped

- 2 green chilies, slit lengthwise

- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust according to your taste)

- 1 teaspoon coriander powder

- 1 teaspoon garam masala

- Salt to taste

- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)


Instructions:

1. Rinse the lentils thoroughly under running water. In a saucepan, add the lentils and water. Bring it to a boil over medium heat. Skim off any foam that forms on the surface. Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the lentils are soft and cooked through. Set aside.


2. Heat ghee or oil in a separate pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.


3. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.


4. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.


5. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.


6. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Mix well and cook for a minute to let the spices release their flavors.


7. Pour the cooked lentils into the pan and mix everything together. Add salt to taste and adjust the consistency by adding more water if needed. Bring it to a boil and simmer for 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.


8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.


9. Serve hot daal fry with steamed rice, roti (Indian bread), or naan. You can also squeeze some lemon juice on top for extra tanginess if desired.
